Media Vault
Records Management Services operates the area's only commercial media vault. Our vault is designed
for the express purpose of storing vital computer backups in a safe and secure, offsite
location. When you decide to store your backup tapes offsite in our vault, we design a
program to fit your company's individual needs. After your rotation routine is established
for your backups, we schedule regular pickup and deliveries. This routine ensures your
media is off-site quickly and that your business always has the proper media for your scheduled backups.
Why Offsite?
It is very important to backup your data to ensure it is available should a disaster occur. Once your data is backed up, the next decision to be made is where to store that valuable backup. If stored at your location, then it is available should your computer malfunction. But, if a disaster should hit your physical location, like fire, vandilism, sabatoge or tornado, then the backup tapes can be just as lost as the computer. By providing offsite storage of your computer backups, Records Management Services can offer you peace of mind that you will be able to recover should a disaster occur.
Vault Features
Our vault is built of fire resistant construction. Our vault is also temperature and humidity controlled to ensure the reliability and long life of your backup tapes data. The temperature and humidity gauges are tied directly into our alarm monitoring, so that we will be notified if either of those two figures fall outside the acceptable margins. In addition to all the other safeguards we take with your data tapes we also video monitor and tape the access to our vault. This ensures we have a video record of all activity in the vault area.
In addition to storage of backup tapes, our vault has other valuable uses. The vault can be used to protect checks and other negotiable documents. The temperature and humidity control make it perfect for keeping sensitive labels in stock for our customers. Also, we have two-key lock boxes located in our vault like your banks safe deposit boxes. These lock boxes can be used to store vital items to help protect your company against disaster. This could include insurance papers, deeds, manuals, or other valuable items vital to your business.
